Purpose & Strategy

Organizational Development / Purpose & Strategy

Purpose

Buzzword or bingo? Whatever you call it, whether purpose or something quite different, we are convinced that there is a need for a shared WHY, a mutual understanding of the purpose of an organization. A WHY that provides orientation. Orientation that enables proper fulfillment of key organizational tasks, such as taking decisions, formulating expectations, giving and receiving feedback, dealing with conflict, setting and consciously ignoring priorities.

These are all characteristics of transformative and high-performance organizations.

Strategy

Seriously? Every day the world demonstrates what VUCA means and we actually want to open up the pandora’s box called strategy? 5-year plans? Strategy papers? Unending PowerPoint presentations? Yes, we do. Because, time and again, successful organizations convince us how critical strategic thought and action are to success. But what are we to do? Strategy is different today than the way it was taught years ago, as a continuing process, a constant finger on the pulse of market dynamics and the VUCA world.

So, let’s climb down from the mountain peak of strategy, which led us to believe we could keep the world in view and descend into the valley of those who also do not know what the world will look like in the future.

Or, as Dwight D. Eisenhower once said: “Planning is everything. The plan is nothing.”

We will guide you. In small steps with big impact.
